Our Montessori Approach

Dr. Maria Montessori considered that each child is unique and that the greatest capacity to learn and the strongest appetitive for knowledge takes place between birth and the six years of age.

It is during these early years that the foundation is laid for all their future learning, for their sense of themselves, their confidence, self-esteem, respect, and interest in the world around.

With an absorbent mind always at work, the child permanently seeks to adapt to the world, using all his/her senses.

In order to satisfy this thirst to get to know the world, our Montessori class environment is equipped with a sensorial & scientifically designed apparatus, which allows the child to work independently.

Child-Centered Learning

Through constant observation, we follow the developmental level of the child and his deep interests. The guides introduce the material through individual or group presentations, however it is the child who decides for how long s/he wants to work with the given material, where when and how often.

Prepared Environment

Our classrooms environment consists of scientifically designed Montessori apparatus, displayed on the shelves, providing the young children with hands-on use and exploration. Through simplicity, beauty, and order, we aim at providing a safe environment where children are free to direct their own learning.

Mixed-Age Classrooms

Our children are part of a mixed-age group, which makes it a diverse social environment. Our older children take pride in being role models, while the younger ones, benefit from observing and receiving the care and guidance of their more experienced peers.

Trained Montessori Teachers

Our Montessori teachers and assistants hold the credentials of Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and to the best of their abilities, safeguard the consistency of the Montessori method, but above all – we are parents.

Peace Education

In our daily practices, we incorporate peace education, where each child is guided to navigate conflict, show empathy, and is guided to understand the respect for self, the other, and the environment. We strive to cultivate a sense of peace and harmony within the classroom community. We believe that peace education starts at home, it continues at school and later, it is taken out into the world at large.
